Player guide
Grow carefully. Split decisively.
The goal is to survive, gain mass, and climb the leaderboard without becoming food for a larger cell.
Move
Move your pointer or finger toward the place you want your cells to travel. Small cells move faster, while large cells carry more mass and turn more slowly.
Split
Press Space or use the Split control. Eligible cells divide and launch toward your aim. Manual splitting is capped at 16 pieces.
Eject
Press W or use the Eject control to fire a small amount of mass. Ejected mass can feed cells, move viruses, or fire a stored spike.
Recombine
Split cells need time before they can merge. Keep related pieces close and protect the smaller pieces while the recombination timer runs.
Food and other cells
Colored food pellets provide steady growth. A cell can consume an opponent only when it has enough of a size advantage and overlaps it. If an opponent is visibly larger, create distance before it can split toward you.
Viruses
Viruses provide cover for cells that are too small to trigger them. A sufficiently large cell that pushes deeply enough into a virus bursts into many smaller pieces. Virus bursts can exceed the normal 16-piece manual split cap, so approach carefully.
DNA, proteins, and mutations
Collect DNA to improve speed, growth, eject range, or eject accuracy for the current life. Proteins can grant temporary movement, attraction, growth, or spike abilities. Mutation progress resets when you respawn and when the public dish resets.
Public room resets
Each multiplayer room resets hourly. The countdown appears in the game interface. Connected players stay in the room, but every cell and round-specific upgrade starts fresh.
